Andy Mackay (July 23, 1946—) is a British musician, best called a saxophonist for the group Roxy Music.

Mackay was innate within Lostwithiel, Cornwall, England, and grew higher within central London. He attended Reading University, where he played by owning the class action known as the Nova Express & struck higher a friendly relationship using fellow student Brian Eno. He joined Roxy Music around 1971, fallowing answering an ad located by singer Bryan Ferry, and before long brought Eno into a class action too. Mackay likewise worked using Mott The Hoople, John Cale, Pavlov's Dog and Eddie And The Hot Rods. Around 1981, he published Electronic Music: A Instruments, The Music & The Musicians.

Fallowing Roxy Music's dissolution inside 1983, Mackay joined with Roxy guitar player Phil Manzanera to form The Explorers, featuring Bryan Ferry soundalike James Wraith on lead vocals. the class action freed a self-titled album inside 1985, and resurfaced around 1988 as Manzanera and Mackay. Under this title, it freed a farther ii albums which combined fresh poop using reissued tracks from either the Explorers album.
